Dr. Julio Marino or Dr. Shirley Marquez examines you at every visit. We scan your teeth instead of taking goopy impressions, and we put the images on the monitor beside your chair so you can see what we’re looking at.

A professional cleaning
Our hygienists remove plaque and tartar gently and thoroughly, then show you home care that fits your mouth.

Part of every exam, every time. Finding something early makes a real difference.
Digital X-rays, when you need them
We decide which images you need based on your history, any recent X-rays and what we find. Digital X-rays use much less radiation than film, and we can enlarge them on screen to look closely.
A gum health check

iTero Lumina scanner
A precise 3D image of your teeth in minutes, with no impression trays. It helps us spot problems earlier and show you exactly what we see.
CBCT 3D imaging
A three-dimensional view of your teeth, jawbone and the structures around them — things a flat X-ray can miss, from hidden infections to bone density. It uses less radiation than a conventional CT scan.
3D printing
We print surgical guides, temporary restorations and orthodontic appliances here, which means faster turnaround and fewer visits.
Digital records
No paper charts. Your images and history are on the chairside monitor, so we can compare this visit with the last one.

Preventive care FAQ
How often should I come in?
Most people do well with an exam and cleaning every six months. If you have gum disease, a history of cavities or other risk factors, we may suggest coming more often. Either way, we’ll set a schedule based on your mouth, not a template.
How long does a preventive appointment take?
Plan on about 90 minutes for your first visit: a complete exam, digital imaging, a cleaning and time to talk about what we found. Regular checkups after that usually take about 60 minutes.
Why does the digital technology matter for a checkup?
The iTero scanner and CBCT imaging give us much more detail than older methods, so we can catch problems earlier — when they’re smaller, easier to treat and less expensive. And a digital scan is more comfortable than an impression tray.
Can I use my dental insurance for preventive care?
Yes. Altamar doesn’t participate in insurance networks, so you pay Altamar directly — our team submits your claim, and any reimbursement your plan owes goes straight to you.
